RECOM Launches the Marketing Talent Fellowship to Develop Ghana’s Next Generation of Marketing Professionals

The Marketing Talent Fellowship is here!

At RECOM (Rumis Engage College of Marketing), we hold a simple belief: professional marketing education should go beyond examinations. It must shape individuals who think critically, act ethically, and lead with purpose.

Today, we are proud to announce the launch of the RECOM Marketing Talent Fellowship (RMTF). This strategic initiative identifies, supports, and accelerates the development of Ghana’s most promising emerging marketing professionals.

Every year, universities across Ghana graduate exceptional students with strong academic records. Yet many face a common challenge: they lack structured pathways to move from academic excellence into professional marketing leadership. Too often, talented graduates navigate this transition alone—without mentorship, industry exposure, or clear direction.

The RECOM Marketing Talent Fellowship changes that. It is not simply about rewarding academic achievement. Rather, it is an intentional investment in the future of marketing practice in Ghana and across Africa.

As the marketing profession evolves, structured talent development has become increasingly critical. Mr. Kwabena Agyekum, CEO of CIMG, notes:

“The future of marketing in Ghana depends not only on academic excellence, but on our ability to develop professionals who can think strategically, act responsibly, and deliver measurable impact. The RECOM Marketing Talent Fellowship is a commendable initiative that aligns strongly with CIMG’s commitment to professionalising marketing practice in Ghana. ”

By creating a structured pathway from graduation to professional certification, this Fellowship helps bridge a critical gap between education and industry. We particularly appreciate its focus on ethics, mentorship, and real-world application—elements essential to shaping the next generation of Chartered Marketers. Initiatives like this strengthen the ecosystem and raise the standard of marketing practice in Ghana and beyond."

Who the Fellowship Is For

The RECOM Marketing Talent Fellowship goes to the top graduating student in marketing or a related discipline. Selection is based on four criteria: academic performance, leadership potential, demonstrated interest in marketing, and a commitment to purpose-led, ethical practice. It is open to students in Marketing.

What the Fellowship Offers

The Fellowship provides a fully funded professional development pathway. It combines academic progression with practical experience. Fellows receive full tuition support for Pathway 5 (Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing) and Pathway 6 (Professional Marketer through the CIMG USP). This ensures they emerge professionally certified and industry ready.

Beyond tuition, the programme delivers three additional benefits. First, mentorship from experienced industry practitioners. Second, practical exposure through case work and consulting projects. Third, career acceleration support that includes guidance and networking opportunities.

A Word from Our Founder

Reflecting on the motivation behind the Fellowship, Amin Ayarnah, Founder and President of RECOM, shares:

“RECOM was founded on a simple but urgent belief: that marketing education must be relevant, responsible, and transformative. Over the years, we have seen incredibly talented graduates struggle, not because they lack ability, but because they lack structure, guidance, and opportunity.”

“The RECOM Marketing Talent Fellowship is our response to that gap. This is more than a scholarship. It is a deliberate investment in people who have the potential to shape organisations, influence markets, and contribute to society in meaningful ways. Through this Fellowship, we contribute to the long-term development of the marketing profession in Ghana—one professional, one cohort, and one impact story at a time.”

Our Broader Vision

The launch of this Fellowship reflects a deeper commitment. At RECOM, we are building more than a learning institution. We are building a pipeline of purpose-led marketing professionals. They will strengthen organisations, shape industries, and contribute meaningfully to society. We believe the future of marketing in Ghana will not be defined by chance. Instead, it will be shaped by intentional investment in the right people.

The RECOM Marketing Talent Fellowship begins with a select group of institutions. Plans are already underway to expand across Ghana and, in time, across Africa. Our goal is simple but ambitious: to contribute, consistently and incrementally, to shaping the practice of marketing, one professional at a time.

Excellence should not end at graduation. It should be the beginning of leadership. Through the RECOM Marketing Talent Fellowship, we are taking a deliberate step towards ensuring that Ghana’s best marketing talent is not only recognised, but guided, developed, and empowered to lead.
