Every mission begins with a moment of personal struggle.
For me, it was sitting in a classroom, eager to deepen my understanding of professional marketing after completing my MBA at the University of Ghana. I had enrolled in one of Ghana’s popular tutorial colleges to pursue professional marketing qualifications. But almost immediately, I realised something was missing.
The teaching was transactional. The mentorship was absent. And the focus was entirely on exam preparation, not on truly grasping the ideas that make marketing transformative. I often left sessions confused, unmotivated, and disappointed. I wasn’t alone. Those I recommended to the same institutions came back with similar frustrations.
The problem wasn’t lack of content; it was inadequate meaningful connection.
Little empathy. Little relevance. Little purpose. And yet, amidst this struggle, a vision began to form.
I held on to it, and started guiding marketing professionals through their marketing qualification, until I started teaching the CIMG and CIM courses. While teaching CIMG and CIM courses across Ghana, and Kenya, I met many professionals who shared my experience. They were passionate, committed, and hardworking, but needed more than surface-level instruction. Theywanted flexible, empowering, and transformative learning. They wanted to become better marketers, not just pass an exam.
So I started small, weekend revision sessions with real-world application at the core. And from those sessions, RECOM was born.
RECOM is not just a tutorial college.
It’s a movement to reshape marketing education in Africa.
It’s a response to a deep, lived need.
Our priority is local relevance. That’s why we focus deeply on the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) qualifications, offering high-quality instruction, contextual mentorship, and learning that reflects the realities of Ghana’s business environment and Africa’s development aspirations.
But we don’t stop there.
We embed responsible marketing and sustainability into everything we do, helping learners see the bigger picture, how marketing can become a force for good in business, society, and the planet.
